Dog gone it. I finally figured out how to get my domain name and my blog connected, and now google has never heard of me and Yahoo says I don't have any links.
If you have any reason to put me in your blogroll (I'll be glad to beg) or otherwise send me linky love, please use the new improved URL: http://www.smellshorsey.com/
The other one will still get you here. I'm not moving. Just getting a grown-up address.
Hey there! I'll update my link to you.
You need to set up (or have a techie friend set up) a 301 redirect from the old blog address to the new URL. This is a permanent redirect telling the search engines and users that the original page has been moved permanently. Setting the 301 will maintain all of your links and search engine listings.
Unfortunately, I'm not a techie, I'm a search marketer, so I only know how it works and not how to set it up. Good luck!

Scratch that ... I just learned a little more ... a 301 redirect is a server setting that isn't usually allowed on third party sites like typepad. I guess it would only be available if you actually owned the old and the new URLs. Sorry!
